New Warehouse Extension - Bardon, Leics

A new £7m warehouse and office extension of 135,000ft2 has commenced in Bardon, Leics. The existing premises cover 32 acres including 480,000ft2 of existing high bay automated warehouse, offices and amenity areas.
The site is a primary distribution centre for Nestle and will require close liaison with the site operator during construction to maintain full operational status. The new warehouse extension will be 13m high and will provide an additional 23,000 pallet spaces. It is being constructed as an ambient area but is designed with an option to fit-out to chill at a later date.
10,000ft2 of offices and a new double height gatehouse along with a further 90 trailer parking bays complete the development.
Once completed the site will contain approximately 100,000 pallet spaces, 57,000 of which are serviced by automated material handling equipment.
Mirus have provided due diligence assistance on the site since January 2007 resulting in the purchase of the site from Nestle in April. Mirus will act as Project Managers and Cost Consultants during the construction phase of the development.
The project commenced on site on the 7 May 2007 and is due to complete by the 23 April 2008.
