Mirus were appointed as Construction Project Managers and Cost Consultants for this scheme and acted from conception through to contract completion.
The Sherwood Park site was located at Junction 27 of the M1 and called for the design and construction of eight buildings in a campus style arrangement.
The client's budget was fixed and the use of Supply Chain Management in the tendering / costing stage became critical to the overall success of the project.
Following extensive design development and budget management, the project was initially tendered. The contractor's costs were significantly over budget and despite negotiation remained well above the development budget. Continued Value Engineering led to a re-tender which eventually met the project budget.
This project was confirmed as the first of its kind in the area to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.
The end result is an attractive, campus style development boasting green credentials in a highly desirable location.
